WeCircle is built on walking together, talking openly, and supporting one another. These Community Guidelines apply to in-person walks, online circles, Speak with Confidence sessions, and any space where WeCircle gathers — whether you found us through wecircle.ca or elsewhere.
Our shared intention
We create welcoming spaces where women can show up as they are — without pressure to perform, fix, or impress. These guidelines help keep our circles safe, respectful, and meaningful for everyone.
Welcome & inclusion
- We welcome women from diverse backgrounds, ages, cultures, and experiences
- Assume good intent, and offer grace when someone is nervous or new
- Use language that respects identity; if unsure, listen and ask gently
- Free circles listed on our website are open to women who align with our respectful, supportive culture
Confidentiality
- What is shared in circle stays in circle — do not repeat others’ personal stories outside the group without their permission
- You may share how you felt or what you learned, but not someone else’s private details
- Online gatherings: use a private space when possible and avoid recording others without explicit consent
Respect & safety
- Listen without interrupting; one voice at a time in circle
- No harassment, discrimination, bullying, or demeaning comments
- No solicitation, multi-level marketing, or unsolicited business pitches in circle
- Respect physical boundaries on walks — pace, space, and comfort levels differ
- If someone asks for silence or pause, honour that
Not therapy — but deeply human
WeCircle circles are peer community spaces, not group therapy or crisis services. Facilitators and volunteers are not acting as licensed counsellors. Share at your own comfort level. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (911 in Canada).
Online circles
- Join from a location where you can participate with minimal distractions when possible
- Keep your microphone muted when not speaking if background noise is an issue
- Do not share meeting links publicly or invite others without coordinator approval
In-person walks
- Follow meeting-point instructions shared by WeCircle (e.g. Bear Creek Park gatherings)
- Dress for the weather; walks are outdoors unless stated otherwise
- Let a walk coordinator know if you need to leave early or adjust pace
Speak with Confidence series
This program focuses on finding your voice in a supportive group. Feedback should be encouraging and constructive — celebrate courage over perfection. Sessions build month to month; regular attendance helps the group trust, but we understand life happens.
Communication from WeCircle
If you register via our website, we may email you about circles you selected and community updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
If something feels wrong
If you experience or witness behaviour that violates these guidelines, please contact us at [email protected]. We may follow up privately with those involved and, if necessary, restrict participation to protect the community.
Thank you
Thank you for helping WeCircle remain a place where women can walk, talk, and connect with honesty and care. We’re glad you’re here.
